Darn Pneumonia Strikes Again

This time Presley.  Poor little thing.  But thank God that Children’s Hospital is in our backyard.  She will be better in no time!  When we walked in, she could hardly lift her head off my shoulder.  Then they pumped her full of albuterol and she couldn’t stop bouncing off the walls!

Cuddlebugs!

I can’t remember if I have written yet about Cuddlebugs but even if I have, it is worth two posts.  We found them about a year ago – Katrin and Sara – the two most wonderfully sweet, compassionate, loveable women you could ever meet.  And they love our Presley to pieces and Presley them.  Every morning, when we pull into the driveway, we scream “Cuddlebugs!!!!” and clap our hands together.  Presley gets so excited she can hardly wait to jump out of the car, into my arms, and then in to Katrin or Sara’s arms.  She has made friends that she says goodbye to each day (she yells “goodbye friends” as we walk away) and enjoys the waffles and other yummy breakfasts and lunches they make her.  They are both from Pakistan and speak farsi, which I am certain Presley speaks from time to time.  I mean, c’mon….how cool is that!?  The best part about it is that Presley screams with excitement when she gets there and then screams for excitement when we pick her up.  It’s every working mom and dad’s dream!

Our courageous little ripper and her crazy brother!

Skyler has improved so much this year at skiing.  Leif takes her up every Friday and skis with her while Liam does race team.  She is crazy coachable and loves to rip!  And, whose kidding who?  She looks awesome doin it!  And then there is Liam who now goes down the hill by himself because all he wants to do is point it.  It’s a dream come true – the 4 of us now ski together.  One more to go…

Hot chocolate breaks have also become a highlight.  J
And don’t forget about mom and dad….we’ve gotta keep up our skills too!

Science Fair Time

Liam and Skyler decided to perform solo this year at their science fair.  Liam did an experiment with a balloon and soda bottle (the bubbles end up blowing up the balloon) and Skyler did the tie dyed milk experiment that Liam did last year (always a crowd pleaser).  We had a fun time putting the projects together – even had fun lights to hang on the poster board.  Despite my attempt to plan early, it still came down to the last morning when Leif had to run to Walgreens at 7am for more supplies!

Look who is Potty Trained!!!

Score:
Mom and dad: 3
Kids: 0
We did it!!!!!

My new running partner

Have I mentioned before that Skyler is always down for whatever?  Well, she is and I have finally found a running partner
Skyler and I have been running one mile every Saturday.  She likes to take breaks to climb on and jump off logs, which isn’t doing much for our time, but it makes it a lot more fun!  Liam decided to join us this weekend, which meant double the jumps and excitement.

Ski Day with Uncle Mike

Uncle Mike should write this post since I was not there but today he took Skyler and Liam up to ski.  I was giddy with excitement for them.  Apparently, Mike and Skyler skied together the whole time, and Liam would do laps around them.  Meaning that at 8 years old, Liam is going up and down ski hills by himself.  My favorite story (Mike shared the video), was Liam flying down the hill looking for jumps and his sister yelling down to him from the chair lift: “NICE LIAM!!!!”

Seahawks Playoffs

Poor Leif – don’t get me wrong – he loves watching the Seahawks with his kids but when it turns into the entire neighborhood over for playoffs….let’s just say this wasn’t how he envisioned this.  His face in this picture makes me laugh.  He is such a good sport.

Our Little Performer and her little Mini Me (gymnastics style)

Skyler performed at gymnastics today in front of all the team parents and families.  She is awesome.  It is so much fun for me to watch her and remember so clearly what that felt like.  She has improved so much this last year and is now doing back walkovers and back hip circles by herself.  She is always confident on trampoline too since she spends half her life on ours at home.  As Presley watched, she could hardly hold herself back.  She desperately wants to be just like her big sis!

Skyler Get's Contacts

After last ski season and poor Skyler having to deal with two fogged lenses (her goggles and glasses), we told her we would get her contacts.  She could wear them to ski and to go to gymnastics since she said that sometimes when she lands on her face, her glasses hurt her....ummm.....

In any event, she is the youngest girl that anyone has ever heard of wearing contacts (including her eye doctor) but she is absolutely amazing with them.  She only wears them intermittently and I have to admit, I miss her glasses when she wears the contacts, but she is beautiful both ways!
