Grandma takes the kids to the Zoo

My mom came in last night to watch the kids today because I had to work. She had mentioned the zoo the night before and Liam woke up ready to go! I wasn't there so I cannot speak to the experience but she said the kids were great, they both walked the entire time, and their favorite part was feeding the reindeer apples! I am so grateful that my mom lives so close by and takes such an active role in the kids' life.  :)

Who loves messes?

This is how we found Liam's room this morning when we went to get him up! I wonder how long it took him to do this!

Sunny January Day!

We have hit the jackpot this January with a whole week of gorgeous sun! I absolutely love the sunny winter days - so crisp and clean. Liam, Skyler and I hung out in the back yard this afternoon and enjoyed the rays beaming down!

Winter Olympics 2018 Here we Come

We drove up to Snoqualmie this morning after church and got Liam on Skis for the first time. He managed to walk around on the skis by himself for almost 30 minutes, happy as a clown. Leif and I would hold his hands and he could slide along laughing but the toy skis he was on needed a major wax job! It was successful though, as Liam enjoyed himself as the pictures show...

Denver Visit - Papa and Nana

It was a long trip to Denver but watching Liam run and jump into Papa's arms at the airport made it all worth it. We loved seeing Papa and Nana and playing in the snow. It was negative 8 degrees which made it hard to stay outside for long but we made the best of it and Liam even tried out snowboarding (we couldn't find ski boots that would fit him)!

On our way to Denver!

Leif took this picture at Seatac on our way to Denver! They sat like this forever!

Patty Cake with Minnie Mouse

I lay outside of Liam's door tonight for 45 minutes listening to him talk himself to sleep. He was so wired because all of his friends (Beckham, Christian, Aly, Sophia, Caroline, Charlotte and Jacob) were over for dinner tonight. The highlight of the night for Liam was when Theron busted out his guitar and started playing and singing. Liam's chin hit the floor and he ran for "daddy's guitar" (from Guitar Hero) so he could play back up. As Liam went off to sleep, he reminisced about his whole day and speculated about the day to come. He said things like "Skyler goes pee pee on the potty" because earlier that day he told me that Skyler should go to the bathroom so we took of her diaper and put her on the toilet . . . and she actually peed. He said "maybe Grandma will have lunch with me when she gets home." He sang songs - especially his current favorite "Twinkle twinkle little star" (which he loves because it makes his sister dance). And then he started playing patty cake with Minnie Mouse . . . in the pitch black. He kept asking Minnie "where are your hands Minnie." I was stifling my laugh and I sat peacefully outside of his door. I absolutely loved it.

It must run in the family...

Liam's reaction to Santa this year was not all that different from Leif's reaction 30 years ago...
