Liam’s best buddy in town

Liam’s best friend from Kirkland, Blake, came into town just for the night on his way to Arizona. The boys are like two peas in a pod and enjoy each other so so much. It was all smiles from the minute he got here until he left this afternoon. happy Liam even got to skip school to hang out with him. It’s so neat that they can remain friends despite the distance. ????????

They really do love each other...

Presley got her feelings hurt at a play date yesterday when one of the little girls gave a “present” to another girl and then told Presley she couldn’t have one because she wasn’t her “best friend.” Ugh. Girls can be so mean!! Even 6 and 7 year olds!

I told Liam and Skyler about it this morning and this afternoon, when I walked into Presley’s room, I found this note...along with Presley’s favorite stuffed animal of Skyler’s.

They can act like they hate each other sometimes and, especially during this time when they spend almost ALL their time together, they definitely get on each other’s nerves. But, when it comes down to it, I never doubt that the three of them have each other’s back. ❤️❤️❤️

SJ scores the winning goal!!!

I had planned on letting Skyler ride with one of her teammates this Saturday to her game in Idaho Falls. We have travelled for soccer for the past month and I was thinking I needed a break. But then on Thursday, Skyler told me she was going to score a goal and I said “well, then I guess I have to go!” I am SO glad I did because I witnessed her first legit, solid, powerful goal with just two minutes in a tie game left. She was the hero and her team (and fans) went CRAZY!

It has been a tough few weeks with all the u certainly around school and COVID and I am just so thankful for soccer and the team and the way the girls hold each other up! I haven’t seen Skyler that stoked since she podiumed last year in her ski race!

Back to school!

After almost 6 months out of school, the kids are headed back today. How is it possible that I have two middle schoolers!!! Poor little Skyler was so so nervous but she is on great hands with Mr. Parsons as her homeroom teacher. Liam was calm, cool and collected...old hat for him! So unbelievably awesome to see him finally relaxed into life in SV. Presley was darling in her colorful outfit...more than ready to be a first grader. School looks different with all the masks but we are going to make the best of it. Sending all my good energy to the kiddos today! ❤️❤️❤️????????‍♂️

Our Backyard

Spent 6 hours at the river today. Leif, Liam and I spent 3 fishing and then the rest of the free range children from the neighborhood joined us. I can’t believe this is our backyard.

Presley’s Bday Party

Leave it to Presley to demand a pajama-spa-sprinkler party. This kid is going to change the WORLD. Happy 7th birthday my strong, hilarious, fun loving firecracker of a girl! You always keep us on our toes and bring so much energy to our family.

I think the coolest and most heart warming part about her birthday party was the way Skyler wanted planned, participated and practically ran the whole party. She put together the sugar scrub supplies and taught the girls how to do it, she bought the face scrub supplies and put them on the girls. Her and her brother ran in the sprinklers (of course). She really showed how much she cared about making her sister’s day special. Did I mention she made her breakfast in bed?

Trip of a Lifetime

Rafting down the Middle Fork was so much more of everything than I could have ever imagined. The beauty, the peace, the disconnectedness, the freedom, the playfulness, the stars, the rapids, the smiles, the conversations, the bonding. So so so good!

Back to SV

We came back to SV Sunday afternoon after an amazing time at Herron. As we pulled into the driveway, we saw a mama moose and baby laying in our backyard. Who needs to go to Yellowstone when we live in a flippin wilderness!
